OVERVIEW
In this project, I was assigned to redesign and rebuild the knowledge management database from the user-centered aspect. From the metrics of tree-testing, one can see that the information retrieving time-consuming has been decreased. With new information architecture design, finding files and manage the project become more efficient and faster.
INTRODUCTION
Knowledge management (KM) has generated considerable interest in management circles due to its capability to deliver to organizations, strategic results relating to profitability, competitiveness and capacity enhancement. (Oluikpe, 2018)
In the short run, supporting the development of IS department and make the knowledge easy to access and retrieve is the their first priority. Based on the KM database, the KM strategy should be proposed, which allows us to foresee the vision, and then plan the next step for building IS community and becoming learning organization. Finally, we can decrease the IS risk.
CHALLENGE
My challenge to this project was that I had never dealt with the system that was so complex and dynamic. The full scope of this project is to build up the organization culture of IS. The other challenge was the users were all the employees in this department, any obtrusive study would face the limited resource of time.
